Don't Die Wondering
I’m a writer and teacher interested in health and the relationships between biomedicine and social movements.

I study and write about the politics of health, science and medicine–especially how biomedicine and social movements shape each other. Before working as an academic, I worked in public health and health care access organizing. Some of my primary questions about health were formed during these experiences. Recently, I published my first book: Care without Pathology. It examines how activists and care providers define trans health as field and enact care as a public good. I enjoy discussing ideas and hearing feedback about my work, so please feel free to get in touch via the contact form below.
I’ve written a book, journal articles, book chapters, and media articles on the politics of health, science, and medicine–particularly focused on transness; housing; racialized, classed, and abled marginalization; and social movement organizing.
